6th Grade Update: September 26, 2017
Posted on 09/26/2017
The 6th grade at the Putnam Ave. Upper School is off to a strong start! The newest members of our community spent the first week of school getting to know each other, their teachers, and the building. The first week included a grade wide town hall, a guided tour of the school, a field day geared toward building teamwork amongst classmates, and a whole school assembly where “The Future of Putnam Ave.” learned about our core values and experienced the great energy of our school.

During advisory time, students have been working to build connections with one another and their teachers. In the picture, you can see the entire 6th grade class during a “silent birthday lineup” in which they used silent communication skills to arrange themselves in a line by birthday. As we move through the year students will be using advisory as a home base to craft a “story of self” to demonstrate the core value of pride for their 6th grade portfolio.
