Our Spare Change Campaign is underway and ongoing … please remember to send in your spare change to help support the 8th grade trip to Pennsylvania! We are still seeking additional donations to help fund student scholarships. Please contact Ms. Calioro or Mr. McDonald for more information.

On April 16th, for the conclusion of the Encounters unit in social studies, we hosted a grand jury performance. The purpose of this was to determine who should be brought to trial for the destruction of the Taíno people in the years after Columbus’ visit in 1492. Thank you to all who came to support this fantastic learning opportunity!

8th graderGilli Danenberg, an 8th grade student at Putnam Avenue, is a Cambridge representative for Project 351. Project 351 is a non-profit organization that celebrates the power of young people to create positive change in their communities. There are Youth Ambassadors from each of the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts. The Spring service activity is collecting clothing donations for Cradles to Crayons, which will help families in need. Gilli has worked tirelessly and has enlisted the help of her peers to collect donations. The 8th grade team is very proud of Gilli, all her hard work, and her dedication to the community.
