This past week, the 7th graders began the Netpals program, which gives students the opportunity to be matched with a mentor who works in a STEM career at either Volpe, Pegasystems, or MIT Department of Chemical Engineering. On Monday, December 7th, a representative from each company visited the school to discuss their work and career paths. On Wednesday, December 9th, students met their Netpals for a lunch meeting at their respective offices. Pictured are students who visited Volpe and were also given a tour of the facilities. On Friday, December 11th, students composed emails to their Netpals and learned about how to send professional emails. Students and their Netpals will continue correspondence throughout the course of the year and will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face on two more occasions.
