Science: Students have begun their chemistry unit which investigates chemical reactions through the question of "How do we make new stuff from old stuff?" Students will perform a series of chemical reactions and investigate changes in properties as an indicator of whether or not a chemical change has occurred. Students will then "zoom in" to look at what is happening to these chemicals on a molecular level.

Math: Students are working on making scale drawings using scale factor and corresponding parts. We are also reviewing fraction and decimal operations.

Social Studies: In seventh grade, social studies students are culminating their unit on identity with their "Who am I?" identity project. In this project, students will showcase aspects of their identities which they will share with their peers. As we move into October we will launch our first historical unit about the rise of Islam.

ELA: Students are doing independent reading and analyzing poetry for author's purpose.

Chinese Immersion program: We are working on the topic of identity. Students will create their identity posters as their project. We will start our Islam journey after the identity topic. With all the knowledge about Islam, students will work on a DBQ essay, "Why Did Islam Spread So Quickly?"
