SessionOn May 29th, we had the honor of hosting participants from the Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color Conference (COSEBOC). Participants were able to engage in a number of sessions aimed at making our practices around supporting young men of color visible. Highlighting and modeling the instructional strategies of choice and movement, visitors had opportunities both within sessions and within the day to choose their own path, move about the room and building, and to collaborate with one another while learning about a variety of supports and structures that are part of our practice at Putnam Avenue: Boys’ Groups, Partnerships with the Cambridge Police Department and the David Walker Scholars of the Harvard Black Men’s Forum, Restorative Practices, Stories of Self, and the instructional practices of our Math Department--which is comprised of all men of color.
