Counselor’s Breakfast has been a huge success this year, with record-breaking attendance at each breakfast. The next breakfast will be 3/19. The counseling team looks forward to seeing your child there.

With the end of the first semester and the start of the second semester, it is crucial for students to take a precious moment and reflect on what went well and identify areas for growth. This reflection should not solely be centered on academic achievement, and we would like for your children to begin the process of exploring: are they getting closer to their “Good Life”?

The recent spring mirage, that was two consecutive days of sunny weather at a balmy fifty degrees, was a great respite for all of the gray days that have preceded and will follow. Winter is here! With the acknowledgment of winter, comes the winter blues. There is less daylight and longer evenings and nights. The counseling team would like to make a few recommendations for you and your children that can help deal with the shock to the system that is the winter blues:

  • Go for an afternoon walk, yes, a nice walk is an excellent way to get your blood flowing, and a boost of vitamin D is always welcomed. Enjoying the outdoors and experiencing sunlight can improve your overall well-being.

  • Create or maintain a healthy sleeping schedule. Too much or too little is never good. It is essential to find a healthy schedule that works for you. When your sleep routine fluctuates, that can impact your energy and mood; we would like for your children to be operating from a place of being at optimal health and engagement.

  • Have Fun! New England winters are drab, and it is essential to enjoy life and work on being happy. Happiness comes in many forms, and the counseling team recommends a healthy portion of fun and happiness.
