Exciting events have been happening this spring at Putnam Ave! On Wednesday, May 25th, Mr. Richardson, our physical education teacher, coordinated an all day rowing field trip through Head of the Charles Regatta for the 8th graders. Students and teachers had a beautiful day to experience rowing on the Charles River. The day completed with a rowing students using their new skills on static rowing machines. A fun day was had by all!

Students and staff got competitive with each other last Friday, May 20th. Out on our new pitch, students took on the teacher soccer team in a whole school game. We certainly saw some talented students and staff as they maneuvered the ball! As teachers predicted, they won the game, 6 - 0!

What better way to show appreciation for teachers than to make them yummy food? The third and last market stand will be taking place on June 15th during Chinese classes. Ms. Hsu and her students will ‘sell’ staff on a variety of Chinese delicacies. Students will be asked to bring in a Chinese dish or food item for staff to sample. The teachers then vote on the best Chinese stand! This event is always a great culmination to a year of learning about new cultures.

Last but not least, the Specialty teacher team is getting ready for our last award ceremony. This end-of-the-year award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 21st. Specialty teachers need to select the outstanding students who have performed consistently all year. We are also planning on a few surprises to entertain our crowd and leave them with a lasting impression!
